Flávio Nunes is a journalist for ECO, focusing on how technology is changing society and the economy.
He has a degree in Social Communication and has always been interested in technology, media, social networks, economics and politics. He has worked in radio, collaborated with local newspapers and founded a regional television channel. In journalism, he began his career at Observador. In 2016, he continued his career at ECO.

He has over 25 years' professional experience in large companies in Portugal and Spain.
After taking over the management of City Desk Computers in 2002, he led the General Management of Texto Editores in Spain, having returned to Portugal in 2007, at the invitation of Portugal Telecom, to develop the youth segment, taking on the coordination and operational management of the e.escola / e.escolinha projects.
In 2013 he took on the role of B2B Customer Service Director at Altice Portugal and, since January 2020, he has held the position of Product and Pre-Sales Director at Altice Empresas.

Paulo Pereira is currently Director of Innovation and Technology Strategy at Altice Labs, where he is responsible for the strategic vision of the portfolio, technological evolution and the infusion of innovation into the organisation. Previously, he held leadership roles in B2B Product Management at Altice Group level, coming from several years in business unit leadership roles at Altice Labs. He has a degree in Systems Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Minho.

Miguel de Castro Neto

Miguel de Castro Neto is an Associate Professor and Deputy Director of the NOVA Information Management School (NOVA IMS) at Universidade Nova de Lisboa, where he founded NOVA Cidade - Urban Analytics Lab, dedicated to smart cities and urban analytics. He directs the Master’s Program in Information Management and the postgraduate programs in Smart Cities and Business Analytics for Hospitality and Tourism.
He served as Secretary of State for Spatial Planning and Nature Conservation in the 19th and 20th Constitutional Governments and was named Smart Cities Personality of the Year in 2017 (Green Business Week/AIP Foundation).
Advisory Board Member of the Order of Engineers, founder and Vice President of the Data Science Portuguese Association, member of the Platform for Sustainable Growth, and Chair of the Technical-Scientific Council of Vissaium XXI—Association for the Development of Viseu.

Marco Espinheira
Director of Futuro
Cascais City Council

Since 2014 he has been Director of the Future at Cascais City Council, responsible for the areas of communication, innovation, information technology, culture, heritage, citizenship, talent, youth, sport, strategic planning and smart cities.
He has previously worked as a consultant and advisor in the areas of strategic communication, innovation and culture for various organizations, including Instituto Camões, Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa and the Social Innovation Bank. He previously worked as an entrepreneur in the areas of communication and technology, culture, advertising and communication.
He has been a member of the general and advisory boards of various economic and cultural organizations.
He graduated in Business Management from Universidade Católica in 1995 and has a Master's degree in Business Innovation from California State University in 1999.

João Paulo Fernandes

With over 30 years' professional experience, he holds a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico and an MBA with a specialisation in Marketing from Universidade Católica.
Since 2005, he has been General Manager of NEC Portugal, a subsidiary of the NEC Group.

João Machado

He began his professional career as a financial auditor at PwC Portugal, later moving to the management control area at the Lucios Group and the Phone House Portugal Group. He is currently an Aveiro City Councillor, responsible for the Environment, Citizenship, Youth and Seniors and Entrepreneurship areas.
He has a degree in Economics from the University of Aveiro and a master's degree in Auditing and Taxation from the Portuguese Catholic University.

Technology is transforming the world and posing new challenges for cities, requiring more modern, effective municipal organisations that provide qualified services and are able to respond adequately to the demands and expectations of all citizens.

With this in mind, Altice Empresas held an event on May 27 dedicated to Smart Cities, which discussed trends and new solutions that will inspire municipalities to create a new future.
