Rui Coutinho

Rui Coutinho is currently the Executive Director of Innovation and Development at Porto Business School.
At Porto Business School, he is also the founder and director of the Centre for Business Innovation, academic director of The Executive MBI (Executive Master in Business Innovation), co-director of the Sustainable Management Program, and professor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation in the MBA programs.
He is a consultant to the European Commission and the OECD on the development of innovation and entrepreneurship in universities.
Previously, he was the founder and coordinator of Porto Design Factory and a professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Porto.
Throughout his career, Rui has worked across all sectors of the triple helix: business, the public sector, and universities.

With over 25 years of professional experience in large companies in Portugal and Spain.
After taking over the management of City Desk Computers in 2002, he led the General Management of Texto Editores in Spain, returning to Portugal in 2007 at the invitation of Portugal Telecom to develop the youth segment, assuming the coordination and operational management of the e.escola / e.escolinha projects.
In 2013, he assumed the position of Director of B2B Customer Service at Altice Portugal, and since January 2020, he has served as Director of Product and Pre-Sales at MEO Empresas.

I joined ATLANTICO Europa as IT Director in 2014, and since then we have built a team of 33 IT professionals, focusing on Agile Software Development and enabling the development of products such as Trade Finance, AML, CRM, and Account Opening via Videoconference (ATLANTICO Europa was the first bank in Portugal to offer this service).
Other important projects include the launch of ATLANTICO in Namibia and Cybersecurity (the largest IT investment).
I began my career as a software programmer at General Electric in 1999, then moved to Banco BiG as a Project Manager in 2000, where I was later invited to become Software Developer Manager.
