How do I know if my phone supports eSIM?

To check whether your smartphone supports the eSIM feature, check the device's manual or the specifications on the manufacturer's website. You can also go to the mobile phone settings and look for the option to add a new mobile plan. If you have any doubts, MEO support can check for you.

How do I switch from SIM eSIM?

If you're already a MEO customer and want to replace your SIM with an eSIM, follow these simple steps:
- Check your device's compatibility: Make sure your device is compatible with eSIM technology.
- Access the my MEO App: Log in to the my MEO app and request that your physical SIM be replaced with an eSIM. The request is free.
- Install and activate the eSIM: After the request, you will receive an email with the QR Code of your new eSIM and all the information you need for the installation.
- Scan the QR Code: On your device, access the mobile network settings and use the camera to scan the QR Code, activating the eSIM on the device. Once the process is complete, your eSIM will be ready for use.

Can I have a physical card and a eSIM card in the same smartphone?

Yes, as long as the device is a Dual SIM model and supports eSIM technology.

Check that your equipment is not blocked to other operators. 

How can I order a eSIM MEO?

To request an eSIM, follow these steps:
1. Confirm compatibility: Check that your device is compatible with eSIM and that your MEO account is in order.
2. request an eSIM: You can request an eSIM via the MEO website, in your customer area, or at a MEO store.
3. receive the QR code: You will receive a QR code by email or text.
4. activate eSIM: Go to your mobile phone settings, add a new plan and scan the QR code.
If you need help at any stage, MEO support is available to assist you.

I've changed my smartphone, can I install my eSIM on a new device?

If you are changing devices, always make sure that you first remove or delete eSIM from the old device before scanning the QR Code on the new device. Always ensure an Internet connection (via WiFi) on both devices throughout the process. Up to 6 installations are allowed using the same eSIM QR Code which is available on the my MEO app. Find out how to install the eSIM.

If you're switching between iPhone's or iPad's, you can transfer eSIM between the two devices without scanning the QR Code by following these steps on your device:

1. "Settings"

3. "Add eSIM"
   
4. "Configure Mobile Service"

How much does eSIM MEO cost?

There is no additional cost associated with activating MEO’s SIM card. If you are already customer , switching to a SIM card is free. However, it’s important to check whether your plan covers eSIM usage eSIM extra cost. If you’re not yet customer, the cost of eSIM depend on plan choose. For more detailed information on prices and available plans, visit the MEO website or contact customer service.

When I installed eSIM, I got an installation error message. What was the reason?

If you have followed the entire installation process and receive the installation error message, before repeating the installation process again, check that:

• the device ran out of battery, switched off or had no internet connection during the installation process of the eSIM
• the specific memory provided by the device can accommodate the installation of a further eSIM. Remove an installed eSIM that you no longer need, or check the number of eSIMs allowed by the make/model of your device.

Is my profile blocked? Why?

When you have more than 2 eSIM profiles, one is inhibited and one is in use. The last one to be installed inhibits the previous ones by default.

How to install eSIM?

Before downloading eSIM onto your device, make sure you have an internet connection, either via WiFi or mobile data. eSIM is installed by scanning the QR code.

To scan the QR Code, open the eSIM menu on the device where you want to install eSIM, as follows:

• iOS devices: Settings > Mobile Network > Add eSIM > Use QR code > Scan
  
• Devices Android:  Settings > Connections > SIM Manager > Add eSIM > Read QR code

If you ordered a eSIM card, a notification will appear on your mobile phone the necessary steps. Open the notification, follow the instructions, and finally, just make a call to complete the activation. This is the fastest way to start using the service.

Note:

- If you scan the QR code from an email received on the device itself, you should save the QR code attachment in the photo gallery and in the "read/use QR Code" step, open the gallery, select the QR Code from the gallery and finish activating your eSIM.

- If you have a Apple device, you can use the eSIM transfer/conversion options from the menu on your iPhone or iPad , quickly and independently.

My profile has been removed. What should I do?

If you have removed eSIM from your device, you can simply re-install it by scanning the QR Code, which is available in the my MEO app, from the same device or from another compatible device. You can do up to 6 installations of your eSIM. Find out how to install eSIM.

After 6 installations, the QR code becomes unavailable for scanning again. To obtain a new QR Code, you must request a new eSIM.
