What is Roaming and how does it work?

Roaming allows you to continue using your mobile phone, tablet hotspot outside Portugal. Access the Internet, make calls, and send messages on foreign operators' networks that have agreements with MEO.

How can I use the mobile data service outside Portugal?

When you are outside Portugal, you can use your mobile phone data mobile phone as you would in Portugal.

You can use email, the internet, applications and much more.

You need to check that this function is active on your device. To do this, go to General Settings > Network > Roaming Data > Activate*.

If you have an internet traffic sharing card, you can use it abroad, the traffic used will be billed according to your Roaming plan .

To avoid incurring software update costs, we suggest that you check on your mobile phone that updates are only configured in WiFi mode:

Android: General Settings > Device Information > Software Update > More options > Automatic Update.

Apple: Settings > General > Software Update > Automatic Updates (*)

There may be slight variations depending on the device model and operating system version. If in doubt, check the information in the device manual or on the brand's website.

How much does MEO Roaming cost per country?

Can I use unlimited mobile data outside Portugal?

It depends on the plan you choose. Some plans offer unlimited calls and text , but mobile data has specific limits. Check the conditions of your plan to find out all the details.

How can I use my mobile data abroad more economically?

For more economical use outside Portugal, we recommend that:

• Disable automatic updates in your mobile phone settings;
• Download apps and maps of the places you're going to visit before you travel;
• Check your mobile phone 's settings to see if the " RoamingData" option is activated or deactivated, as required.

How can I control my internet data allowance on mobile phone other communications abroad?

To control consumption, we offer a free service, which is automatic and doesn't need to be activated. You'll receive warning messages on your mobile phone whenever your spending reaches a certain monthly limit.

You can change the monthly limit online, via the my MEO App, the my MEO website or in theMEO Empresas customer area (if you are aMEO Empresas customer with a NIPC).
