How to increase WiFi coverage at home

If your home Wi-Fi connection is intermittent or slow in certain areas, run a Wi-Fi signal test to check the signal quality and strength.

Follow these steps, which apply toAndroid smartphones or tablets . Before you begin, make sure you're connected to your Wi-Fi network.

The MEO Home app incorporates the features of the MEO Smart WiFi app, which will be discontinued shortly.Learn how to set it up with MEO Home. 

1. Open the MEO Smart WiFi app. Learn how to install MEO Smart WiFi.
   

2. Scroll to the area where you want to evaluate the signal and select the option. Evaluate WiFi signal, no need to log in to the application.

If you have MEO SMART WiFi active, you can also select this option from the Home tab after logging into the application.

The app will evaluate the WiFi signal where you are and the device you are using. The result will be different depending on your position and distance from the router.

If the signal appears:

• Green, the signal quality is good.
• Red or Yellow, signal quality is poor or could be improved

view the recommendations for improving signal quality.

• Move the router slightly to a central, livre area, allowing for greater WiFi signal distribution.
• Check that there are no other interferences or obstacles that alter the quality of the WiFi and reduce the signal.
  
• Add a MEO Smart WiFi Extender to extend the signal of your WiFi network and guarantee quality of service for real-time applications (video, voice, online games, virtual reality, etc).

Rent MEO Smart WiFi 6 Extender

Rental is available for customers with internet Fibre that have FibreGateway or Fibre X routers.

The request can be made through theSupport Lines (see the plan), or support lines MEO Empresas (see plan) and the equipment will be sent to the address indicated. Alternatively, delivery can be made by courier (faster) or technician (for installation after analysis of coverage on site), for an additional fee.

After delivery, the monthly fee of €4 per unit (VAT included) will be added to your MEO service bill.

This rental has no retention period. You can try it out without obligation and if you're not satisfied you can return it to a MEO store and end the rental.

How can I get FibreGateway WiFi 6?

When you subscribe to a MEO fibre bundle with a broadband service, check that the option you have chosen already includes this router. If it includes another router, indicate that you want the FibreGateway WiFi 6 model, and the €2.99/month will be added to the price of the selected MEO bundle.

If you are already a MEO Fibre customer with a fixed internet service and you have another router, you can request a change to the FiberGateway WiFi 6 via the support lines (see price list), or the MEO Empresas Support Line(see price list), upon payment of the technician's trip (€50 VAT Included) and by adding €2.99/month (VAT Included) to your MEO bundle .

Can I use the MEO Smart WiFi 6 extender with the FiberGateway WIFI 7 router or with the Fiber X7 router?

If you have a MEO Smart WiFi 6 extender (model D2260G), you can still use it with the new FiberGateway WiFi 7 and Fiber X7 routers. To do this, simply pair it with the new router, via WiFi or cable. It is worth noting that the extender will continue to support connections from WiFi 6 compatible devices.

In the case of the older MEO Smart WiFi Extender (model D2150G), which only works on WiFi 5, compatibility is no longer guaranteed.

In which bundle and how can i get FiberGateway WiFi7 and Fiber X7 routers?

You can order the FiberGateway WiFi 7 router when subscribing to MEO Fibrebundles . The Fiber X7 router can be ordered when subscribing toMEO Fibre 10 Gbps Speed Edition bundles .

When choosing these routers, the value of €4.99/month will be added to the value of the bundle MEO selected.

If you have a bundle compatible, you can exchange your current router for one of the new WiFi 7 routers, paying for the technician's trip and the amount of €4.99/month on your bundle MEO.

Note: FiberGateway WiFi 7 and Fiber X7 do not support RF (coaxial cable) TV service. If you want to watch TV without using a Box , you must use a Smart TV compatible with the MEO app on TV .

The availability of speeds of up to 10Gbps at the address where the MEO service is installed is subject to technical validation. The maximum speed can only be achieved using devices with a 10Gbps network card. Maximum Internet access speed of up to 8Gbps, with the remainder used for error correction mechanitext intrinsic to data transmission technology, ensuring a high level of stability and performance in access. Maximum speed under ideal technology conditions, not including data encapsulation.
