Spoofing

In this type of fraud, criminals call victims, often using fake or masked numbers, to make it appear that the call is coming from a legitimate entity, such as a bank or a well-known company. The goal is to persuade the victim to provide personal or financial information.

Example: A person receives a call from someone posing as a representative of their bank, claiming there is a problem with their account and asking for confirmation of personal details. During the call, the victim is tricked into sharing sensitive information.
