  • What will change in the channel grid without MEOBox from now on?

There have been changes to the frequencies of the digital and analog channels available on TVs without a MEOBox:

Televisions that tune in to digital channels or use a DTT set-top box

It's possible that some digital channels without a MEOBox will turn black after this change. If this happens, you need to retune the TV without MEOBox to access the channels again.

Televisions that receive only analog channels

Some TV sets no longer include the analog channel lineup without a MEOBox. With DVB-T-compatible TV sets or by using a DVB-T set-top box, you can continue to watch these and other channels from the digital lineup without a MEOBox.

Changes to the channel grid without MEOBox

  • How do I know if my TV tunes into digital channels?

Most televisions purchased in 2012 or later can receive digital channels, and there may even be models manufactured before that date that can do so as well.

To confirm, look for the "digital channels" option in the TV's tuning menu or check with the manufacturer.

  • The RTP1, SIC and TVI channels appear in black, what should I do?

If the RTP1, SIC, and TVI channels have gone dark, then your TV is tuned to digital channels without an MEOBox. To regain access to the full channel lineup, you’ll need to retune your TV by selecting the “Digital Channels” option in the tuning menu. Check how to retune your TV if it’san LG,Samsung, orSony model.
  • I tuned my TV and I got fewer channels. What should I do?

We advise you to check the order of the channels on your television. If CMTV is followed by RTP Memória, that's the analog channel grid. In this case, we inform you that the following channels are no longer part of the analog channel grid without MEObox:

A Bola TV, Porto Canal, Sporting TV, Eurosport 1, Biggs, Jim Jam, Fox Movies, AXN Movies, Fox Life, Fox Crime, AXN White, SyFy, Discovery Channel, História, Odisseia, National Geographic, Canal Q, MTV Portugal, Blaze, TLC, My Cuisine, 24 Kitchen, Travel Channel, Fashion TV, VH1, MCM Pop and Record TV.

With DVB-T compatible TVs or using a DTT decoder, you can continue to watch these and other channels from the digital grid without a MEOBox.
  • Why are there changes in the frequencies of digital and analog channels?

These changes occur for reasons beyond MEO's control and as part of the changes to DTT frequencies with a view to freeing up the respective bands for 5G.

  • How to block channels, subscriptions and movie rentals in the video store

You can block the viewing and purchase of paid channels and content (such as movies from the video club) by placing a PIN block on your MEOBox.

MEO set-top boxes come with adefaultPIN —0803. You can change it whenever you want.
Ifyou've changed your original e PIN and can't remember the number, you shouldcontact Customer Support customer (see plan).

There are 3 different types of locks and you can set a different PIN for each one:
    • Purchases and Rentals PIN - blocks channel subscriptions and movie rentals in the VideoClube. Whenever you have this PIN active, you can only subscribe to channels by entering the PIN, as well as accessing the customer
    • Adults PIN - blocks access to channels with content for 18+ year olds
    • ContentPIN - inhibits the display of channels. If you don't want certain channels to be visible on your channel grid, you can inhibit them using this PIN on the box. This allows you to restrict access to the channels by other people, such as youngsters, for example.

To activate or change the box PIN , go to:
    • Menu > Definições > Bloqueios > choose the type of lock PIN.
    • Enter the PIN
    • Select "Save"

On MEOBox Android TV, there is only one PIN that controls access to purchases and rentals of premium channels and movies from the video club.
Access to PIN is via customer portal >Definições > Controlo Parental.

  • What is High Definition?

High Definition (HD) is a television broadcasting system with an image resolution four times higher than that of Standard Definition (SD). With high definition transmission, images are twice the quality: they are sharper, more vibrant and more detailed.

High definition allows you to capture every detail of the best sports, entertainment, nature, culture, information and adult content programs. High definition channels are marked on the channel list with the symbol.
