Apple TV - MEO Help

The Apple TV 4K is a device that allows you to play audio and video content and access streaming services and Apple services. For example, you can watch content from your iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch on your TV, just by using the iOS 4 operating system or higher and synchronizing your devices.

MEO, in partnership with Apple, has developed an App that gives access to the MEO television service, with a new interface that allows faster and more fluid navigation for this device.

The installation process is simple:

1. Plug the Apple TV 4K into the mains and connect it to the TV with an HDMI cable (not included in the box. To take advantage of the maximum picture quality available, you should use an HDMI 4K HDR cable, which you can buy from the MEO store).
2. Selecting the language: Swipe across the Touch surface of the Apple TV Remote to find your language and the country or region. To choose an option, click on the Touch surface. If you select the wrong language, press the Menu button to return to the previous screen.
3. Continue configuration with the iOS device or configure manually:



To automatically add the Apple ID and Wi-Fi settings to Apple TV 4K, select Set up with device. Then unlock your iOS device, hold it next to Apple TV and follow the on-screen steps on your iOS device and Apple TV.

If you don't want to set up Apple TV with your iOS device, select "Set up manually". Then follow the on-screen steps on Apple TV to connect to your home Wi-Fi network and log in with your Apple ID.

If you don't have an Apple ID, you can create one.

You can connect to the router via an Ethernet cable instead of Wi-Fi. If you do not have a MEO Fibergateway, we recommend connecting via an Ethernet cable. We recommend using a UTP cable that is at least Category 5e; you can purchase one at the MEO store.

Now you can also watch MEO TV on Apple TV. With an even more personalised experience and innovative touchpad navigation, MEO TV is like nothing you've ever seen before. You can watch your programmes, access premium channels and automatically record your MEO TV on the Apple ecosystem.

The MEO app is only available for MEO Customers fibre with TV + Internet service.

We recommend connecting Box Apple TV to the router using an Ethernet cable (network cable). If connecting via Wi-Fi, we suggest using the Fibregateway router.

• To watch your shows, access premium channels, and view automatic recordings on your MEO TV, you need to have the MEO app available on the homescreen of your Apple TV. If you purchased your Apple TV at aMEO store or through the meo.pt online store, the MEO app is already installed and available on your homescreen. Just open the app and start watching TV.
• If you bought your Apple TV from a store other than MEO, you need to register or use your Apple ID to download the MEO app from the App Store, launch the app and accept its association with 'TV Provider MEO' to start watching TV straight away.

The MEO app is only available for customers MEO Fibre with TV + fixed Internet service.

Apple TV 4K can be purchased atMEO stores, throughthe online store at meo.pt, by contacting Customer Support at customer (see the plan) or through MEO Agents. If you’re a customer MEO Empresas , use the Support Line at MEO Empresas (see plan).

Apple TV 4K is also now available as a rental model for new and existing MEO Fibre customers with a TV + fixed Internet service equal to or greater than 100Mbps.

Anyone can use Apple TV to consume content available over the internet. The MEO app is available to all customers with MEO Fibre (TV+NET).

To ensure maximum image quality, we recommend connecting Box Apple TV to the router using an Ethernet cable.

We recommend using at least Category 5e UTP cable, whichyou can purchase at the MEO store.

Sim, it is compatible with all televisions that have an HDMI input.

MEO App Menu
The MEO app has a menu that gives you direct access to the main categories: “For You,” “Explore,” “Video Club,” “customer,” “Settings,” and “Search.”

• For You: Get direct access to your most-watched channels and the grid of all the channels, the content that's on TV organised by theme, the recordings you've left in the middle and a whole world of MEO suggestions with the latest TV news.
  
• Explore:View all the content that has aired on TV in the last 7 days, organized in different ways. Get direct access to the channels you last watched in “Recordings,” “Continue Watching” the shows you left halfway through, access content in “Recordings” organized by theme, view MEO’s content suggestions organized by the themes Movies, “ TV shows ,” and Documentaries, and finally, access the channel lineup.
• VideoClub: In this section, you can access thousands of movies from the MEO catalog to rent whenever you want. 
  
• customer: Manage your premium channels and get access to various tips on using the MEO app.
• Settings:Access all the options you can customize in the app through the settings.
• Search: Find what you want to watch on TV and at the same time have access to the most popular content in the world of MEO TV.

Channel zapping

Now the channel change buttons, P+ and P-, have been replaced by a faster, more fluid movement, simply by sliding your thumb to the right or left.

Program Zapping

Programme zapping is also different: in the "For You" area you have access to programme zapping organised by theme, with the programmes currently being broadcast. The zapping of programmes by theme is also available in the "Recordings" area with access to the history of programmes from the last 7 days.

Features available when watching TV

When you're watching a program, if you slide your thumb from bottom to top, you'll have access to zapping by theme, and if you move your thumb the other way around, i.e. if you slide your finger from top to bottom, you'll have access to the program information panel tab, which not only allows you to zap programmes from the channel you're watching, but also to zap programmes from other channels, while still watching the broadcast.

Access to the channel grid

There are several different ways to access the channel grid. See the options listed below:

• In the "For You" area, in the "My channels" category, access the channel grid by clicking on "All channels".
• When you're watching the broadcast, slide your finger from bottom to top to access TV Guide organised by theme, select the "Recent channels" option and click on the [...] icon.
• In "Explore," scroll down until you reach the channel grid and select the channel you want to watch.

Because MEO wants you to always have access to the best content, the “For You” page features suggestions with the latest news from the world of TV and a section with content recommendations based on what you watch most (“Recommended for You”).

In Search, in the "Trends" area, you also have access to the most popular content in the world of MEO TV.

Yes, you can have both devices connected to the same TV, but you can only watch MEO TV on one of the devices at a time. If you connect them to different TVs, you can watch them simultaneously.

Due to technical limitations, some features will not be available: Favorites, TV Guide, and interactive apps. However, these features will always be available on the MEOBox.

The Apple TV purchased in MEO stores corresponds to the 4K model with 64GB and comes with the MEO App already installed. Apple TVs purchased in other stores require you to download the MEO App from the App Store.

Note: The SportTv SD version channels are not available on the MEO Apple App. If you have subscribed to the SPTV Premium product (SD channels only) these will not be available on the MEO Apple App.

If you are having problems with the MEO application, follow these steps:

• If you are using Apple TV via Wi-Fi, check that your internet connections are working properly.
• If you are using Apple TV connected by cable, check that all the connections are correct.
• If the problem persists, close the app by double-clicking the button on your PC, select the MEO app, and swipe up (swipe your thumb up).

Sim, if you have purchased your Apple TV 4K. In this case, the Apple TV is an independent device from the MEO TV service.

If you opted to rent Box Apple TV 4K when you canceled your MEO service, you should return it just like you do with other MEO boxes.

MEO customers currently have the advantage of also being able to watch MEO TV via the MEO App available on Apple TV. If the MEO service is withdrawn, it will no longer be possible to access this app.

The channels Sport TV —SD version—are also not available on the Apple TV. If you subscribe to the SPTV Premium product (SD channels only) on another MEOBox, these channels will not be available on the Apple TV, but only on the other MEOBoxes.

Here are just the basic functions:

• To navigate through the screens, slide your finger up, down, left or right on the touch surface and press on the touch surface to select.
• To change channels, simply swipe from left to right in the touch area of the remote control.
• To increase or decrease the volume, press the + or - buttons.
• You can pause and resume the broadcast with the Read/Pause button.
• The Menu button takes you back to the previous screen.
• The TV/Main button lets you go directly to the Apple TV's main screen.
  
  

On the Apple TV, under Settings>Remotes and Devices, the " Turn on TV with remote " option must be set to " Yes ."

You can only pair the Apple TV remote with oneApple TV at a time, and when you pair a new Apple TV remote, any others that were previously paired are automatically unpaired.

The pairing process is as follows :

1. Unplug the Apple TV and wait at least ten seconds.

2. Turn on the Apple TV and point the remote at theApple TV from a distance of about 8 to 10 cm

3. Press and hold the Menu and Volume Up buttons for five seconds to re-pair the remote with the Apple TV

4. When the command is successfully paired, a message appears on the screen.
   

If you experience frequent slowdowns or picture stops and the signal strength is very low, you should move Apple TV closer to your router.

An Ethernet cable connection always provides better quality, so we recommend this as your first choice. You can purchase an Ethernet cable at the MEO store.

To set up a Wi-Fi connection, open the Settings app and, on the Network tab, connect to your home Wi-Fi network (if you have a network ending in -5G, select that one).

If the Wi-Fi signal strength is too weak, move the TV' Apple r closer to the router.
