  • How do I activate or deactivate Voice Mail on my phone?

    To enable or disable voicemail, call the support lines (see plan) or visit a MEO store.
  • How can I listen to messages left for me in my phone's Voice Mail?

    • Just dial *200 from your home phone and listen to the messages left for you.

    • If you want to access Voice Mail from any other phone or mobile phone, just dial 600 200 600. To do this, you first need to set a personal code from home by dialing *200.
  • What is Call Forwarding?

    With this feature, you can receive calls intended for your home phone on another phone number of your choice. Call Forwarding can be done to any fixed or mobile number, in Portugal or abroad.

    When you forward your calls to another number:

    • You will receive them at the number you have chosen
    • Your home phone won't ring when you're called
    • You can continue to make calls from your home phone.
  • How much does Call Forwarding cost?

    Activating the Call Forwarding feature is free of charge.

    Forwarded calls are charged at the normal rate, according to your price plan or plan.

    • If you're new to customer , you already have Call Forwarding ready to use
    • If you have a MEO customer Fibre , please call support lines (see plan), or, if you have customer MEO Empresas , use the MEO Business Support Line (see plan)
  • How to use Call Forwarding?

    Call forwarding is activated directly on the telephone keypad. 

    Forward all calls:

    This forwarding is available to all customers.

    When the service is active, the phone does not ring or receive calls. Calls can be made.

    • Activate: *21* destination number #
    • Deactivate: #21#
    • view if forwarding is active or deactivated: *#21#


    Forward only unanswered calls:

    This rerouting is exclusive to the MEO Fibre service and is already active and ready to use. 

    It allows you to forward calls from one phone to another (landline or cell phone) whenever the call is not answered. 

    When the service is active, the phone rings and continues to receive calls. Calls can be made. 

    • Activate: *61* destination number #
    • Disable: #61#
    • view if forwarding is active or deactivated: *#61#


    Only forward calls when the phone is switched off:

    This rerouting is exclusive to the MEO Fibre service and is already active and ready to use.

    This feature allows you to forward calls from mobile phone or your phone to another phone (landline or cell phone) in the event of a power outage or if the router is turned off (applies to landline networks) or if mobile phone is offline (applies to cell phone networks). When the service is active, the phone rings and continues to receive calls.

    • Activate: *62* destination number #

    Only forward calls when the phone is busy:

    This rerouting is exclusive to the MEO Fibre service and is already active and ready to use.

    Allows you to forward calls from your phone to another phone (landline or mobile) whenever your phone is busy. 

    When this service is active, the phone rings and continues to receive calls. Callers are forwarded to the selected destination; the phone continues to make calls.

    • Activate: *67* destination #

  • What is Caller ID and how does it work?

    With this feature you can view the number of the person calling you on your phone.

    All you need is a display on your phone to show the number calling you. It only doesn't work if the caller has chosen not to reveal their number (anonymous number).

  • How much does Caller ID cost and how can I join?

    This feature is free and available to all customers users. If you do not have it, call support lines (see plan ), or if you are a MEO Empress customer , call the Support Line at MEO Empresas (see plan).


  • What is the Confidential Number and how does it work?

    With this feature, your number will not appear on the phone you are calling.

    You can choose to hide your number on a specific call or on all calls.

    • If you are a MEO fibre customer
      • To hide the number on a specific call, dial * 10 * the phone number you want to call #
      • To hide your number on all calls, dial *31# to turn it on and #31# to turn it off.

    • If you have a MEO ADSL, MEO Satellite, or MEO Phone " customer ," call support lines (see the plan), or if you have customer MEO Empresas , call the Support Line at MEO Empresas (see plan).
  • How much does the Confidential Number cost and how can I join?

    This feature is free.

    • If you're a MEO Fibre customer , this feature is ready to use;
    • If you have a MEO ADSL, MEO Satellite, or Phone customer , please call support lines (see plan), or the MEO Empresas Support Line (see plan); if you have customer , visitMEO Empresas.
  • What is Call Waiting and how much does it cost?

    With this feature, whenever you're on the phone and someone tries to call you, you'll receive a warning (via a beep) that you have a call waiting. If you wish, you can answer the call on hold, without disconnecting the initial call, and switch between the two calls.

    This feature is free.

  • How can I subscribe to Call Waiting?

    This feature is available for all customers, MEO ADSL, MEO Satellite or Telephone. If you don't have it, call the support lines (see plan), or if you are aMEO Empresas customer , call the MEO Empresas Support Line (see plan).

    If you are a MEO fibre customer:

    • To activate: Dial *43#
    • To deactivate: Dial #43#
  • How can I use the Call Waiting Alert?

    During a call:

    1. When you hear the call waiting tone, press the transfer key on your phone (T, Trans, Recall, Recl or R), followed by the 2 key.
    2. Will answer the second call while the first remains on hold
    3. To return to the first call, press the transfer key on your phone again (T, Trans, Recall, Recl or R), followed by the 2 key.
    4. To switch between the two calls, repeat steps 1 and 2.
  • What is call barring and how can I join?

    With this feature you can prevent certain types of calls from being made from your phone (for example, to mobile, international or audiotext numbers). For your security, audiotext services are already barred but, if you wish, you can ask us to deactivate the barring.

    To enable the bus, connect to the support lines (see plan), or if you are customer MEO Empresas , call the Support Line at MEO Empresas (see plan).

  • How much does the call barring cost and how can I use it?

    Call blocking may incur a fee; please check the price. If you are customer MEO Business customer, please check the rates that apply to you.

    • If you are a MEO customer ADSL, MEO Satellite or Telephone, you can control the busbars directly on your phone or ask MEO to configure the busbars you want.
    • If you are MEO fibre customer, you need to ask MEO to configure the buses you want.
  • How can I activate and deactivate Call Barring?

    If you are a MEO customer ADSL, MEO Satellite or Telephone you have to define a personal code (made up of 4 numbers chosen by you) that allows you to control the busbars.

    To activate a bus

    1. Check * 34 *
    2. Dial the personal code followed by * the code of the type of call to be barred #
    3. Wait for the confirmation message and hang up.

    To deactivate a bus

    1. Dial #34 *
    2. Dial the personal code followed by #
    3. Wait for the confirmation message and hang up.
  • What are the Codes for the types of calls to be barred?

    • 01 -mobile, data and audiotext services
    • 02 -international and audiotext
    • 03 - national, international, mobile, data and audiotext services
    • 04 - audiotext
    • 05 - international
    • 06 - international and erotic audiotext (648)
    • 07 - audiotext, except televoting (607)
    • 08 - erotic audiotext (648)
    • 09 - mobile and data services
    • 10 - total output bus
    • 12 - for other operators (10XY)
    • 13 - for other operators (10XY) and international operators
    • 14 - audiotext, except televote (607) and international.
  • What is the audiotext service bus?

    Calls to Audiotext services (with telephone numbers beginning with 6) cost more than calls to commonly used numbers (for example, fixed-line numbers beginning with 2 or 3). For your security, these services are already banned.

  • Numbers automatically barred

    For your security, some of these services are already blocked when we install your phone:

    • Audiotext services in general (beginning with 601)
    • Sales audiotext services (beginning with 608)
    • Contest and quiz audiotext services (beginning with 646)
    • Erotic audiotext services (beginning with 648)
    • Televoting services (beginning with 607).


    These blockades are provided for in Law 95/2001 of August 20.

  • What is Anonymous Call Rejection and how can I use it?

    With this feature, your phone won't ring when you receive a call from an unidentified number.

    • If you are a MEO ADSL, MEO Satellite or Telephone customer , call the support lines (see the plan) and ask for the feature to be activated or deactivated.MEO Empresas customers should call the MEO Empresas Support Line (see plan)
    • If you are MEO fibre customer, you can activate and deactivate this feature from your phone.
  • How much does Anonymous Call Rejection cost?

    This feature may incur a cost, Check the price.

  • How can I activate and deactivate Anonymous Call Rejection?

    If you are a customer MEO Fibre you can follow the instructions below to activate or deactivate:

    1. Lift the handset
    2. Dial *15#
    3. Wait for the confirmation message and hang up.
  • What is the Three-Way Conference and how much does it cost?

    If you have MEO ADSL, MEO Satellite or Telephone you can add two telephone numbers to the same call.

    This feature is free.
    You only have to pay for calls to the numbers you have called, which are charged according to your plan.

  • How can I join the Three-Way Conference?

    This feature is available for all customers, MEO ADSL, MEO Satellite or Telephone.

    Call the support lines (see the plan), or, if you are customer MEO Empresas , use the Helpline at MEO Empresas (see plan).

  • What is the speed dial and how can I join?

    If you're a MEO fibre customer you can set up speed dials for the numbers you usually use. The speed dial book allows you to store up to 100 numbers.

    This feature is exclusive to the MEO Fibre service and is already active and ready to use.

  • How can I use the 100-number speed dial?

    1. Choose the phone number you want to remember (e.g. 961 234 567)
    2. Choose a phonebook number between 00 and 99 (e.g. 03)
    3. To memorize dial * 51 * phonebook number + phone number # (e.g. * 51 * 03 961 234 567 #)
    4. Once this has been saved, when you want to call 961 234 567, simply dial **03.

    To replace a stored phone number with another, simply repeat the process with the phone number you want the new phone number to be stored in.

  • What are 2 simultaneous calls and how can I join?

    If you are MEO fibre customer, you can make or receive two calls at the same time. You need to have two phones connected to your router.

    This feature is free and exclusive to the MEO Fibre service.

    In order to answer a 2nd call, you need to activate the call waiting notification. To do this, simply dial *43#

  • What is Call for Response and how can I join?

    With this feature, you can call back the last number that called you.

    This feature is free and exclusive to the MEO service Fibre. It is already active and ready to use.

  • How can I use Call Back?

    Dial *92# to automatically call the last number that called you.

  • What is Automatic Recall and how much does it cost?

    Whenever you try to call a MEO landline that is busy, you can receive a call when the number becomes available.
    Activation is free, but calls incur an additional charge of €0.04 (VAT included) per call connected via callback.

  • How can I join and use Automatic Recall?

    This feature is available for all customers, MEO ADSL, MEO Satellite or Telephone.

    In the case of MEO Fibre customers , it is already active and ready to use.


    When you call a number that is busy, you will hear an announcement informing you that you can use this feature and showing you the steps to follow.

    In the case of MEO customers fibre it only works when the destination is also a MEO fibre customer.


    To activate:

    • If you are calling a MEO customer Fibre : You willhear a recorded message indicating that the line is busy. If you would like to be notified when the line becomes available, press 1, and if the number becomes available within the next 30 minutes:

      1. Your phone rings
      2. When you answer, the call is automatically made.
    • If you have a MEO ADSL, MEO Satellite, or Phone " customer ": DialR*37#, and if the number remains available for the next 30 minutes:

      1. Your phone rings
      2. When you answer, the call is automatically made.


    To cancel:

    • If you have a MEO customer Fibre : Dial#37, and you won't receive the callback you triggered.
    • If you have a MEO ADSL, MEO Satellite, or Phone " customer ": DialR#37#to stop receiving the confirmation call you activated.
  • How can I organize my Voice Mail messages?

    Messages and missed calls are organised into four different groups:
    1. New
    2. Already heard
    3. Saved
    4. Deleted

    First, you'll hear all the new messages, then the ones you've already heard, then all the saved ones and finally all the ones you've deleted at that moment. Once a Voice Mail consultation call has been disconnected, deleted messages can no longer be recovered.

    While you are listening to messages, you can use the keys on your phone to:
    • 11- Return to the beginning of the message
    • 33 - Skip to the end of the message
    • 1 - Go back 10 seconds
    • 3 - Forward 10 seconds
    • 7 - Pause/continue
    • 8 - To get help
    • * - Back to the main menu
  • How do I record a personalised message in Voice Mail?

    When you activate the Voice Mail service, the system provides a standard message, telling callers that they can leave a recorded message.

    You can customise a message for when you don't answer and another for when the line is busy. To customise the message:
    1. Dial *200 or 600200602 (if you have ISDN service) to access your Voice Mail
    2. The system guides you through the steps.

    You can then record your new message after the beep. To finish recording your service message, press #.

    In order for the answering message to be saved, you must always choose option 2 after recording.

  • How do I activate the customer service message in Voice Mail?

    To repost the initial customer service messages:

    1. Dial *200 or 600200602 (if you have ISDN service) to access your Voice Mail.
    2. Press 3 1 2

    Doing this will display the initial answer message, either when there is no answer or when the line is busy.

    To replace the personalised message with the initial message only in the event of a busy line:

    1. Dial *200 or 600200602 (ISDN) to access your Voice Mail.
    2. The system guides you through the steps.
  • How do I activate/deactivate the new call notification in Voice Mail?

    The Voice Mail service is programmed to notify you when there are new messages, calling you automatically every day between 7:30 and 10:15 pm.

    1. To access Voice Mail dial *200 or 600200602 (if you have ISDN service)
    2. The system guides you through the steps.

    In this option you can:
    • Activate or deactivate this facility - 1
    • Change the new message notification time - 2 (in this case, enter the desired start time and end time. The time period for notifying messages must be a minimum of 1 hour and a maximum of 3 hours).
    • Only be notified daily of new messages classified as urgent by the caller - 3
    • Activate or deactivate the immediate message acknowledgement for a busy line - 4
  • How do I set a personal access code for Voice Mail?

    If you access Voice Mail from your own phone, you don't need to enter a personal code. However, if you want to guarantee the confidentiality of messages on your phone, you can choose to activate the use of the personal code. The personal code must be between 3 and 10 digits long.

    To do this, dial *200 or 600200602 (if you have an ISDN service) to access Voice Mail and choose the options as indicated by the system.

    After setting the code, you must activate the use of the personal code.

  • How does blocking access to Voice Mail work?

    After 3 incorrect attempts to enter the personal code, access to the service will be blocked for 1 hour, after which it will be possible to try to access the service again.

    If you want to unblock the service before that time, call the support lines (see plan).

  • How do I listen to my Voice Mail messages from another phone?

    To listen to messages from another phone (landline or mobile phone), you must ensure that the phone has DTMF dialing mode enabled. You can access Voice Mail remotely via direct or indirect remote access.

    Direct remote access (at the cost of a national call):

    1. Dial 600 200 600
    2. Enter your phone number, followed by #
    3. Enter your personal code, followed by #.

    Indirect remote access (costs the same as a call to your landline):

    1. Call your phone number. Wait to be answered by your Voice Mail
    2. While listening to your welcome message, press *
    3. Enter your personal code, followed by #

  • What is Voice Mail on your phone and how does it work?

    With Voice Mail you benefit from the features of a traditional answering machine, without having to buy any additional equipment.

    Whenever you don't answer a call, Voice Mail records the caller's message and logs the caller's number even if they don't leave you a message.

    Voice Mail answers calls in the following situations:

    • In case of no answer - After 8/9 rings if the call is not answered.
    • If you do not answer the call on hold - After 8/9 rings if you do not answer the call on hold
    • If the line is busy - If the line is busy, the call will be answered immediately.
