text and MMS

  • How to activate the MMS service

To activate the MMS service, send a text from your mobile phone to 16 200 with the message: Activate MMS.

If you are a MEO Empresas customer send a text to 16206.

  • Schedule message delivery

To have your message delivered later (up to 120 hours after sending), write *DIFx#* before the message begins. Where the "x" appears, enter the number of hours you want the message to be held before it is delivered. For example, to have the message delivered 18 hours later, enter: *DIF18#*.

In this case, it can be up to 152 characters long.

  • What is an MMS?

The MMS service allows you to send messages with images, photos, sounds or videos. To send multimedia messages, you need to have the MMS service active.

A Multimedia Message is valid for 5 days. If customer does not view the message within this period, it will be deleted.

Each MMS can be up to 300 KB on the MEO network. The images will be automatically adjusted for the destination mobile phone . The same MMS may be displayed differently depending on the model of mobile phone.

If you are unable to send or receive MMS messages, seeMMS Support.

  • Send anonymous messages

To send a message without revealing your number to the recipient, type *CONF# before the start of the message. In this case, the message can be no longer than 153 characters.

To let us know via text when the confidential message you sent has been received, type *NOT*CONF# before the start of the message. In this case, the message can only be up to 149 characters long.

  • Ideal size of a text

A written message can be up to 160 characters long, including blank spaces. With most mobile phones, you can also send longer messages. In this case, you will pay one message for every 160 characters (for example, a message with 163 characters costs two).

Symbols (such as brackets or slashes) and special characters (such as cedilla letters or accents) can reduce the number of characters available.

  • Know when the recipient has received the message

Write *NOTE# before the message begins.

In this case, the message can only be up to 154 characters long.

  • What is a text

The text service (Short Message Service) allows you to send messages simply, easily and quickly. It is already active on all mobile phones.

If you can't send or receive text, see the text problems section.
