Change in contractual conditions

New Contractual Conditions

As of November 14, if your service becomes unavailable, the new contractual terms and conditions provided for under the Electronic Communications Act will apply.

Service unavailability

  • If, for a reason not attributable to customer, any of the services provided by MEO remain unavailable for a period of more than 24 (twenty-four) hours, consecutive or accumulated per billing period, MEO, regardless of a request from customer, will credit the amount equivalent to the price that would have been due by customer for the provision of the service in question during the period in which it remained unavailable.
  • The period of 24 (twenty-four) hours referred to in the previous paragraph is counted from the moment when MEO becomes aware of the unavailability of the service or when customer communicates it.
  • customer shall be entitled to reimbursement of any costs incurred as a result of the unavailability of a service for which it is not responsible.
  • The deduction or reimbursement to which customer is entitled will be made by credit on the next invoice to be issued by MEO or, if the contractual relationship has ended without such credit having been processed, by reimbursement by any direct means, namely bank transfer or sending a check, within 30 (thirty) days of the date of termination of the contract.
  • For the purposes of the preceding paragraphs, in the case of contracting electronic communications services at bundle with a mobile service, the price to be considered for the purpose of calculating the value of the credit will be calculated as follows:
    • in the event of fixed services being unavailable: the monthly fee for the base bundle minus (i) all associated discounts and (ii) the amount equivalent to the monthly fee for an additional card, for each mobile card associated with bundle;
    • in the event of unavailability of mobile services: the amount equivalent to the monthly fee for an additional card, for each mobile card associated with bundle.
  • The unavailability of the service which, after being reported to MEO, lasts for a period of more than 15 (fifteen) days, gives customer the right to terminate the contract free of charge.
