Divided into three sub-holdings: Visabeira Global and its subsidiary Constructel Visabeira, with activities in the areas of telecommunications, energy, technology and construction; Visabeira Indústria, with activities in ceramics and glassware, kitchen manufacturing, biofuels, thermal energy and natural resources; Visabeira turismo, Imobiliária e Serviços, with businesses in hotels, restaurants, real estate and services.
Currently, the Visabeira group reaches "133 countries on five continents through its products or services" and has "more than 13,000 employees of different nationalities, distributed throughout the countries where it is present", says the head of this multinational. Among its subsidiaries, Grupo Constructel Visabeira, which includes 39 companies specializing in the telecommunications and energy sectors in Portugal, France, the United Kingdom, Denmark, Germany, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Sweden and the United States of America, stands out for having driven the group's internationalization, which began 'at the end of the 1980s', recalls Fernando Daniel Nunes.
However, over the years other businesses in the Grupo Visabeira portfolio have been internationalized, from hotels, construction and real estate to the more recent presence of ceramics and crystal," explains the director. Owner of "nationally and internationally recognised companies and brands" such as Vista Alegre, Bordallo Pinheiro, Edivisa. Montebelo Hotels, MOB Cozinhas, TVCABO Angola and TVCABO Moçambique. the Visabeira group also has a consolidated range of activities that has allowed it not only to withstand the challenges of the economic situation, but to continue growing at a record pace.
'In 2022, the Visabeira group reached the historic milestone of 1,452 million euros in consolidated turnover, an increase of 281 million euros compared to 2021, translating into growth of 24%,' announced Fernando Daniel Nunes. As the largest employer in the district of Viseu and one of the largest in the country, Visabeira intends to "maintain its leadership in Portugal in the group's main areas, namely in the engineering and construction of telecommunications and energy networks, and in ceramics and glassware," although it is aware that its activity in Portugal is conditioned by the size of the market in an average European country," acknowledges the group's director. However, this doesn't stop the group from wanting to "continue to grow and develop business in Portugal in areas such as the hotel industry, where we have made important and careful investments in recent years, in line with one of the sectors that contributes most to the national image and wealth", says Fernando Daniel Nunes.
With its sights set on 'the digital transition of the Portuguese, European and global markets', Visabeira also praises the contribution of MEO Empresas as a 'historic partner that has accompanied the group's growth not only in Portugal but also in other countries', concludes Fernando Daniel Nunes.
