The nectar of excellence in Reguengos de Monsaraz

Accounting for more than 74 wine references, from whites to reds, from young wines to reserves, as well as liqueurs, rosé and sparkling wines, the nectars produced by Carmim are a reflection of the characteristics of the soil and climate and the best of the region's winemaking tradition.

According to Carmim, the quality of the raw material, which comes from a region with a designation of origin, is one of the cooperative's unequivocal assets, along with its human capital and an eight-hectare agro-industrial complex, where the wineries stand out, one for regional wines, the other for DOC wines and the bottling hall, equipped with the latest technology.

Capable of vinifying 1.5 million kilos of grapes a day, bottling 21,000 bottles an hour and storing up to 33 million liters, Carmim stands out as one of the largest wineries in Alentejo and in the country, being one of the main drivers of socio-economic development in the Reguengos de Monsaraz region and an essential support for the associated agricultural businesses and their families in its area of influence.

With the domestic market accounting for approximately 75% of Carmim's business, the cooperative's main brands are Reguengos, Monsaraz, Terras d'el Rei and Olaria. However, foreign markets also have the opportunity to taste the nectars produced by Carmim, with Brazil being the main destination for the cooperative's exports, which end up in dozens of countries spread across several continents.

With its roots in the land, Carmim also claims to be a brand concerned with sustainability, making a commitment to different dimensions: firstly, the financial sustainability of its members and environmental sustainability. This is without forgetting the sustainability of the territory, in order to help create wealth and combat the desertification of the interior, helping to keep people in the region.

Throughout its more than 50 years of existence, Carmim has also sought to be an agent of change, embracing new technologies, whether in the reception of grapes, winemaking, bottling or even in the development of management systems for the production process, such as the Vinus system - Wine Management Software associated with ERP Primavera, which originated in an intense collaboration between Carmim and its technological partner.

In this quest for process and product innovation, Carmim has also been able to count on the contribution of MEO Empresas, in a long-standing partnership in which close and continuous monitoring has been a distinguishing factor.
