MEO Empresas has teamed up with X-Plora and the municipality of Ribeira Grande to create, with the support of streaming platform Netflix, a New Reality Experience solution that will guide users of the app through the scenarios in which the Portuguese TV show "Rabo de Peixe" takes place.

From the 'América' video store, to the Porto Formoso fishing port, to the home of the protagonist, Eduardo Melo, while waiting for the promised second season of 'Rabo de Peixe', the millions of viewers who watched TV show will be able to visit the Azorean town via mobile phone. Points of interest include:

  • Rua do Pires and the VideoClube América,
  • Rabo de Peixe Fishing Port,
  • Rua da Lapinha (formerly Avenida de Rabo de Peixe),
  • Rua de São Paulo Football Field,
  • Santa Bárbara Beach, Largo dos Cabouqueiros,

  • Church of Our Lady of Grace,
  • Porto Formoso fishing port,
  • Fenais da Ajuda lighthouse.

This digital itinerary offers visitors and local people the chance to take a guided tour of the municipality of Ribeira Grande, enriched with additional information, such as videos and images, in Portuguese and English, when users are at the georeferenced locations.

To access this digital roadmap, users just need to follow a few simple steps:

  1. Access the App Store (for devices Apple) or the Play Store (for devices Android);
  2. Download the "VizitAR" application;
  3. Use a QR Code.
