Web Summit: A true technological experience

Web Summit: A true technological experience

By reinforcing infrastructures and networks, we ensured full WiFi and 5G coverage with the excellence that an event of this size requires. It took more than two months of preparation and a team of more than 170 employees to make it possible for the wireless network to simultaneously support more than 150,000 devices.

Since 2016, our company has been a technology partner of the Web Summit, and has recorded high figures that reinforce the importance and resilience of our networks. In 2023, under the brand MEO Empresas, our delivery and unparalleled capacity were once again confirmed by the figures:

  • Traffic consumption on all networks exceeded 40 TB;
  • Around 36% of the traffic processed on the mobile network was on 5G technology;
  • + 1.3 million unique sessions established on the WiFi network;
  • +36,000 unique devices connected to the WiFi network:
  • + 3,000 devices installed and managed by Altice;
  • + 70,000 visitors from 153 countries;
  • 150,000 devices simultaneously on the wireless network.

These figures were made possible by the joint work of excellence involving numerous teams in our company who, together, headed in the same direction: success.

The Web Summit has moved to SAPO. Those who didn't experience the world of entrepreneurship in person also had the opportunity to enter the world of "unicorns". SAPO, the event's media partner, broadcast the Center Stage sessions live and provided exhaustive editorial coverage of various topics related to the Web Summit.

Between November 13 and 16, SAPO recorded more than 3,000 views and around 350 hours of access to its live broadcasts. The special dossier hosted on the SAPO Homepage about the Web Summit had more than 7 thousand users and around 34 thousand pageviews. Access it here.

Congratulations to all the teams involved in this mega-event! view you again next year at the Web Summit!
